What is SEO and How it Works

What is SEO

What is SEO

The full form of SEO is ” Search Engine Optimization “. Simply put, this means the process of optimizing your site to increase its visibility when people search for products or services related to your business in Google and other search engines. The better visibility of your pages in search results, the more likely you are to get attention and attract potential and existing customers to your business.

search engine start searching for the result of the searched keyword and then present it to the user. These are the bots that rank pages in search engines.

Google puts the webpage at the top of the list which it considers the most suitable for the search keyword. If we put the same keyword in different search engines then the result may be different. Because these bots offer results keeping in mind the user’s location search history, his language, all of them.

‌On Page SEO

We humans can tell by looking at the thickness of any font, which text is the heading and which text is the article. But a machine cannot know by looking at all this, but it has to tell which writing is the heading and which is the article. This is where seo requires html tags. We use html tags to tell the machine which text is the heading, which is bold, what color the text is, and so on.

Search engine bots can read through these tags which text is heading and which is article. Bots can’t understand a person’s appearance by looking at the surface of the page, they try to understand by looking at the same tags.

Header Tags

HTML  has six header tags, from h1 to h6. h1 is the largest heading and h6 is the smallest heading. Search engine bots pay close attention to text written between h1 tags. Now the question is which text should be between these tags? So the answer is “keywords”.

Keyword

The keywords that search engines use to search for something are called keywords. What’s in a web page is determined by the keyword. The search engine boot reads the same keyword, then combines it with the searcher’s keyword, presenting the best page of the webpage keyword to the searcher.

The bot considers the heading of any web page as an important part of that page and combines it with the searched keyword. Therefore, it is important that the keyword and the heading are the same words, so that the boot can present the correct page to the user. If you take care of this, your page will get good rank in Google soon.

Title Tag

Very similar to the header tag. Everything we write between the title tags is visible to the user in two places:

1) The pages that appear in front of the user as a result after searching for something in the search engine, the pages that are hyperlinks. , They are written between the title tags. Understand from the picture below:

2) When a page opens in any browser, the name of that page is written at the very top, it is written between the title tags. Look at the picture:

Meta Description

The next basic html tag is meta description. Have you ever noticed? Whenever you search for something, hyperlinks appear in front of you. The form is:

“Search Engine Result Page”.

Throughout the SERP, the title appears in bold blue font and is accompanied by some text that describes this web page. This text is written between meta description tags.

Sometimes Google shows a few lines of your web page instead of text between meta description tags. Never forget to put these tags on your web page. This is important because search engine bots know what the whole page is about through these tags.

Meta Keyword

Between this tag we should write all the keywords of our web page by comma (,). This makes them highlight and users click more like the title of this post is “What is SEO” so I have written this keyword in both meta title and meta description. Now whenever someone writes on Google ” What is SEO”” so he will see this keyword in bold font in SERP.

Off -Page SEO

Earlier we read about on-page SEO factors. Now we will read the factors that are not on-page  we will read about the off-page factors.

Links

Before we move on, let us understand the links. There are two types of links:

InLinks

OutLinks

InLinks are links that link to our web page. And OutLink is a link that leads from our page to another web page, ie our web page contains a link to another web page.

Look at the picture! There are a few links in the navigation bar of a website. Every link you take from one web page to another is an outlink. Similarly, every link that takes you back to the same page is called an in-link.
